Queen City wants to provide information on the effects Alzheimer’s disease has on family caregivers. Based on data collected by the American Alzheimer Association, the following is a list of the effects of caregiving on work

  • Had to go in late/leave early/take time off
  • Had to take a leave of absence
  • Had to go from working full time to part time
  • Had to take a less demanding (lower-paying) job
  • Had to give up working entirely
  • Had to turn down a promotion (and higher pay)
  • Lost job benefits
  • Saw work performance suffer to point of possible dismissal
  • Chose early retirement
